Development of a hemp industry in South Africa
French expertise helping to build a future hemp industry in South Africa
South Africa is seeing a surge of interest in hemp, a source of agricultural diversification and new skills. La Chanvrière and its expert partners were called upon to contribute their expertise, covering everything from production and processing to organisation and training. To organise and coordinate this project, she called upon the expertise of the Hemp European Hub.
Project context
The project aims to support the emergence and structuring of a multi-market hemp industry in South Africa. Its objective is to identify whether or not there are technical and economic conditions essential to the viability of private projects under development in South Africa.
Project leaders‘ requirements
La Chanvrière was seeking a partner capable of coordinating the entire mission in South Africa in order to achieve the objectives set. It was against this backdrop that the Hemp European Hub was approached.
