A 360° cooperative ecosystem

From businesses and local authorities to promotion and development networks, farmers, research centres, universities, associations and individuals, the European hemp hub brings together a diverse range of stakeholders within a cooperative, multi-stakeholder and multi-market ecosystem! All have joined the Cluster to contribute to the development of hemp production, processing and applications, and to make this plant a driving force behind the transition of our regions!

I am a French textile engineer and I own a sweater manufacturing company in Romania where I have been living for 25 years. I am deeply concerned about climate change and am striving to find solutions that can reduce the CO2 content in the air. Hemp is the ideal plant!

I've joined the European Hemp Hub to build a bridge between Romania and France. I am trying to identify opportunities in the textile sector. In Romania, I produce sweaters using 100% European hemp fibers, and I am interested in the possibility of establishing a hemp industry in Romania where our missing piece is the fiber processing. I would like to find inspiration from what is being done in France to implement these ideas in Romania.

Co-founder of the Institute for Cooperative Territories (a resource and training centre focusing on the development of cooperative maturity). We argue that cooperation, or the act of cooperating, is a skill. Like any skill, it can be learnt and developed; cooperation thus becomes a source of development for individuals, communities and regions.

Having supported the "organisational innovation" aspect of the European Hemp Cluster project, I wanted to continue to be involved on a personal basis and contribute in a different way. It is now a SCIC, a rather unique organisation in terms of its foundations and cooperative principles, which lie at the heart of its structure.

Co-founder of the Institut des Territoires Coopératifs, a resource and development centre supporting individuals, organisations and local communities to develop their cooperative maturity and make cooperation a driver of development, resilience and innovation.

For three to four years, Anne Beauvillard and I supported the organisational innovation project that led to the establishment of the European Hemp Cluster as a SCIC. The European hemp hub has chosen cooperation as a driver of development for both the Cluster and its members, and has opted for open cooperation. How could we not be part of it?!
