Building local markets for hemp with Chalons Agglo
As part of its zero-emissions strategy, Châlons Agglo is making bioeconomy a priority, particularly the use of plant fibres. In this sense, hemp appears to be a strategic resource to be developed locally. Hence the will to build an favorable environment for creating sustainable jobs, innovation and opportunities thanks to the hemp industry.
Project context
As part of an ambitious territorial development project, the initiative aims to establish a programme for the construction and local promotion of a hemp industry in order to strengthen the circular and sustainable economy in the Châlons-en-Champagne region. The PEC supports this initiative in structuring a regional cooperative ecosystem dedicated to promoting local hemp.
Purpose of the intervention
The Châlons-en-Champagne urban community requires support aimed at:
- Stakeholders’ identification
- Analysis of the main issues at stake
- Supporting a cooperative approach to build a shared strategy within the ecosystem.
The contributions of the Pole
In order to meet the requirements of the order, the Hemp European Hub offers a service based on the following elements:
- 360° Knowledge of the hemp ecosystem
- Acknowleged capacity to bring together the ecosystem and encourage cooperation among the stakeholders
- Diversified expertise on all hemp-related markets, thanks to our expert associates
