Don’t miss the 2nd European Hemp Hub Meeting!

The Technical Groups of the Hemp European Hub will meet on June 28 in Troyes for the 2nd Hemp European Hub Meeting. The day will feature thematic discussions, punctuated by moments of reflection shared by all markets where hemp is used.

This day should enable:

  • Members of the working groups or those who would like to join them are invited to meet and discuss the priority actions to be implemented to develop the markets that concern them.
  • Everyone will have the opportunity to meet members of the hemp ecosystem, beyond their own profession and sector of activity.
  • Let us all continue to work together to build the Hemp European Hub, which must be able to carry our common ambition: to make hemp a lever for ecological, economic, and social transition in our regions.

On the agenda for this second meeting of the Hemp European Hub:

9:00 a.m.: Welcome coffee, stands, informal discussions

9:30 a.m.: Joint session – “Cooperation, a lever for development for the Hemp European Hub”

11:15: 1st session of the Technical Groups

  • Textile
    • Presentation of the different fibers and yarns available today in hemp.
    • Discussion on the prospects for establishing a 100% French textile hemp industry (issues surrounding production, processing methods, and uses)
  • Building
    • Presentation and review of the action plan;
    • Identification of concrete actions to be implemented as a priority.
  • Plastics and Composites
    • Update on the properties of hemp and the conditions for its processability
    • Building on existing industrial successes, how can the properties of current technical solutions be improved (appearance, food contact properties, etc.)?
    • Miscellaneous questions

12:45 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.: Lunch, booths, informal discussions

2:00 p.m.: Second session of the Technical Groups

  • Textile
    • Maintaining momentum: what collaborative actions can be taken in the short and medium term to develop hemp textiles in the region?
  • Plastics and Composites
    • Continuation of morning work
  • Food-Cosmetics-Health
    • Review and feedback on the main lessons learned from the group’s work in 2020-2021;
    • Identification of key issues requiring collective action in the short to medium term.
  • Building (self-animated)
    • Continuation of morning work

3:45 p.m.: Concluding joint session “From the bioeconomy of hemp to the bioeconomy of territories: co-constructing a model for territorial transition based on a local and ecosystemic resource”

4:45 p.m.: End of the day

Practical information:

  • Access to YSchools by car: parking available at YSchools. Limited places available. If you have difficulty parking, please use the Cube car park (Troyes Exhibition Center, 20 rue des Gayettes), which is a 10-minute walk away.
  • Access by public transport: you can take lines 2 (towards Saint Léger/Buchères, Yschools stop) and 6 (towards Chartreux, Madagescar stop). Both lines are accessible from the station (Jean Moulin Argence stop), a 5-minute walk (450m) away.
