This year, to mark Europe Month, the Grand Est Region has chosen to highlight the Hemp European Hub project. This project is supported by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD). The Region is also co-financing the project alongside the Troyes Champagne Métropole conurbation and Collectif 3 C Grand Est.
In the interview below, Benoit Savourat, president of the Collectif Construction Chanvre Grand Est, explains the challenges facing the project. The aim is ‘to take a global view of the use of hemp by bringing together all the players in the various value chains’. Our aim is to create and lead a dynamic ‘around this production, processing and promotion in our region’.
The project phase lasts three years. “3 years to create a range of services, a legal structure and an organisation dedicated to this ecosystem”, adds Estelle Delangle, project manager.
