On 9 April, the Hemp European Hub and its partners welcomed around twenty stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and professions (companies, local authorities, development networks, associations, etc.) to follow the entire hemp textile value chain during a day of visits around Troyes.
A look back at the day’s events:
- An overview of hemp, its markets and Canalia® fibres by La Chanvrière, followed by a visit to the factory to find out how hemp is processed at Europe’s leading plant!
- Visit the Bugis workshops to find out how knitted fabrics are made and the special features of hemp. Bugis manufactures fabrics for the clothing industry and technical applications.
- Lunch, time for participants and partners to socialise, and presentation of the history and activities of the Hemp European Hub.
- A presentation of Lacoste‘s research and development in hemp, followed by a tour of the Lacoste workshops: from production to dyeing and clothing!
- Visit France Teinture to find out more about new natural dyeing techniques in the textile industry, particularly for hemp.
A big thank you to UIT Champagne-Ardenne for their support in organising this event, to our partners for welcoming us and sharing their expertise, and to all the participants for their interest and good humour!
These hemp ecosystem days are organised by the Hemp European Hub and are open to anyone interested in discovering the different value chains of hemp. The next day will focus on the theme of construction and will take place in autumn 2024. Look out for the date in our diary soon!
