Hemp European Hub: where are we now?

State of play at the Hemp European Hub

Today, the Hemp European Hub is:

  • An ecosystem of stakeholders united by a desire to develop the use of hemp. Nearly 300 people were involved in technical working groups, visits, and major events.
  • A community of interest where the needs of different sectors are discussed. From upstream agriculture to the latest and most promising application markets;
  • A cooperative project that places the quality of human interactions and consideration for the complexity of ecosystems at the heart of its work.

Tomorrow, the Hemp European Hub will also be a place for:

  • Creation, collection, and sharing of knowledge about hemp in all its forms and applications;
  • Production of prospective scenarios and decision-making tools to provide security for economic stakeholders. Offer them a shared vision of market supply and development prospects;
  • Promotion and dissemination of hemp and the regions that champion it and have made its development a key part of their economic attractiveness strategy;
  • Influence and partnership to support regulatory changes and financial support that enable the various sectors to structure themselves and grow;
  • Open to technical, industrial, academic, service, and political partners who participate in the initiative. Also to other ecosystems, whether territorial or other segments of the bioeconomy;
  • Support, advice, training. Provide methodological assistance to other stakeholders involved in hemp development in their region;
  • Engineering and support for partnership-based, structuring, and cross-functional projects that the ecosystem needs to develop.

All this will be done in cooperation with all stakeholders who are already actively involved in the development of hemp.

And always at the heart of what we do is the desire to foster a vibrant, dynamic community that is capable of cooperating and building its future together. While also developing a responsive and flexible management style capable of adapting to the rapid and complex changes of a still emerging market.

This year, 2022, will be dedicated to setting up our organization. So don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like to join us on this adventure. And we will meet again at the end of the year to celebrate its launch.

Many thanks to the European Union (EAFRD), the Grand Est Region, and Troyes Champagne Métropole for their financial backing and loyal support for this ambitious cooperative project for the sector and the region.
